Special Thanks

I'd like to give special thanks to the following sites for helping to promote Cinema Asia. Your enthusiasm is greatly appreciated!

Nancy McGalliard - Check out Nancy's outstanding artwork and cool Asian gifts. Many thanks to you for all your help Nancy!

Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes - A no brainer here. By far the best theater in San Antonio.

San Antonio Current - SA's best independent newspaper. Thanks for listing the club guys!

The Channel A Show - San Antonio's one and only Asian music video program! Although it's off the air now, you guys are not forgotten!

Film Links

Cinema Asia - The Cinema Asia myspace page.

AsianDB - An all Asian version of the imdb, great for locating reviews.

LoveHKFilm - This site is stacked with reviews and recommendations of new and notable old Asian films.

The Korean Film Page - For an excellent site devoted to the study of Korean cinema, one need not look further than The Korean Film Page. Simply the best.

JPreview - Features reviews and news of Japanese cinema.

San Antonio Museum of Art - Check out their outstanding new Asian art wing.

So Good... - A site specializing in Hong Kong film reviews.

Korean Cinema House - A small site dealing strictly with different Korean film genres. Several helpful reviews.

Asia Cinema Weekly - A formerly awesome site with tons of helpful links and information from news on festivals to essays and retrospectives. Although no longer updated, it's still worth a visit.

Film Links Gateway - Has tons of general film information as well as a lagre variety of links to South Asian film info in the international section.

Upperstall.com - A site dedicated to classic Indian films and documentaries.

Squeezing Through The Portal... - At almost six years old, this extensive article that delves into the past, present, and future of Asian cinema in the West remains a good read.

ArtDesy - An Art Directory.

Charities

Care USA - Help fight poverty throughout the world.

Liberty in North Korea - Dedicated to helping innocent people escape North Korea.

Helping Hands Korea - Another excellent organization devoted to helping the people of North Korea.

Shopping

Yes Asia - The Amazon of Asian entertainment.

DVD From Korea - The selection isn't as large as Yes Asia's, but there are always some great deals here.

J-List - Cool stuff from Japan.

Seoul Selection - Cool stuff from Korea.

Torrent Sites

BitTorrent - One of the easiest (and free) bittorrent clients to use. If you're a beginner, BitTorrent will have you up and running in a few minutes.

BSplayer - I've found this to be the best media player for torrent files, especially ones that use subtitles. This player is free, small (about 2 MB) and simple.

BitTorrents 101 - What exactly is a bittorrent? Here's a guide.

D Addicts - HQ for Asian drama fanatics.

The Pirate Bay - Asian film central. Always a great selection of overlooked classics as well as current hits. Just enter the search term "ASIANTORRENTS."

Isohunt - Another site to find Asian films and also music and music videos. Isohunt is good if you know exactly what you're looking for.

Mininova - A decent collection of Asian films and a whole bunch of anime.

Torrentspy - Probably the largest torrent site on the net. If you can't find it on Torrentspy, it probably doesn't exist. Unfortunately, the site is no longer available for US residents.
